The Team
Having first met overseas back in 2006, Brett and Shani have partnered in Infrakey to bring over 30 years of infrastructure, private equity, legal and government advisory experience to the Asia-Pacific infrastructure market.
Brett joined InfraKey in early 2023 following 18 years in infrastructure advisory, funds management and asset management within Australia and overseas.
During this time Brett has been with tier one entities including Macquarie Capital (Infrastructure), Balfour Beatty Investments, InfraRed Capital Partners and, also more recently, as CEO of Live-in Learning, a $300m project vehicle undertaking a PPP with Curtin University.
Brett holds a double degree of Engineering (1st class honours) and Commerce from the University of Western Australia, and is also a CFA charterholder.
A key focus for Brett at InfraKey is infrastructure and renewable projects concentrating on an efficient pathway to decarbonisation.
Shani Ireland joined Infrakey in 2025 after returning to Perth following 16 years in the UAE and two years in Melbourne.
Whilst overseas, Shani worked in legal, operations and projects and held various roles, with the most recent at Clifford Chance Dubai.
Prior to that, Shani worked at Standard Chartered Bank Dubai, various boutique UAE law firms, Art Dubai and Clifford Chance Dubai as a finance lawyer. Shani started her career with Herbert Smith Freehils, Melbourne.
Shani holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from the University of Notre Dame, Australia and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Western Australia.
